There was a great deal of press attention after she was named as the candidate for replacing Hope Hicks, the communications director. There's been some tense fights. Friends of Schlapp as well as Tony Sayegh who is one of the other candidates for the post started fighting in the media. Schlapp said that after she learned that the Washington Examiner had published an article that had negative reviews of Sayegh's personality, she contacted Sayegh for a private conversation.
